My name is Chris Chappell, I am a self taught artist from Louisville Kentucky and I’ve done art all my life but became a full time artist in 2014. I enjoy creating with just about any medium from ballpoint pen to video to glass, but my absolute favorite is spray paint. Spray paint allows me to go big rather quickly and I feel like I discover something new almost every time I use it. Discovering is a big part of what I love about art so I enjoy trying new things all the time and my subject matter can change to whatever I’d like to see that day. This approach keeps me open to seeing new things in new ways and allows me to problem solve in the moment which I also love about making art. I love doing murals because I feel like they are the ultimate problem to solve, from working with a clients idea to the texture or obstacles a wall may present. Murals can be the ultimate challenge with ultimate rewards not only for the artist and client but for the public who come into contact with it.
