Bendy Knees is a queer owned mural and installation team out of Birmingham, Alabama. Their work typically portrays the power of color and movement to energetically uplift and shift the environment of a space through abstract design. They strongly believe in the transformative and healing power of shared creative community experiences and are passionate public art advocates that strive to empower, educate, and encourage other creatives.
Since forming the company in 2019, Bendy Knees has painted murals for a wide variety of clients. From local restaurants / bars & retail spaces across the city of Birmingham to large companies across the southeast, such as Apple, Dani Dazey, Ed Farm, and It Gets Better Project! They have also fabricated large scale installations for the Birmingham Museum of Art and Sidewalk Film Festival. Most recently, they've joined the team at Sunny Dayz Mural Festival, out of OKC and are now 4 years in and leading the installation team. Sunny Dayz, a traveling mural festival, seeks to support artists who have historically faced unjust inequities in this male-dominated industry by providing equitable opportunity and compensation, professional development, and mentorship. Bendy Knees also does small scale work for home interiors and sells limited edition pieces online!
