Utah is one of the most unique states in the U.S., ranging from its culture influenced by the Latter Day Saints to its diverse economy centered on multilevel marketing, informational technology, and national park tourism.

The state’s art scene is smaller, due to the greater focus on different forms of tourism. However, some towns like Saint George are becoming bustling art enclaves. The capital of Utah, Salt Lake City, also is becoming a bustling art center. Museums like the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art and the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art also contribute to the art world in Utah.

Here are some WXLLSPACE artists contributing to the growing art world in Utah.

Good Happy Stuff

Trevor Dahl, or his moniker “Good Happy Stuff”, creates beautiful murals with mythical energy and narrative. These murals create tender images that also serve as honest renderings of human psyches. His work is simultaneously playful, visceral, contemplative, and absurd.

Biltslouisart

Born in Suva on the island of Fiji, Bill Louis (also known as Biltslouisart) derives his artistic inspiration from his diverse cultural heritage – Fijian, Samoan, and Tongan. With influences from West Coast Graffiti arts, early contemporary artists like Salvador Dali and Vincent Van Gogh, and Polynesian art and culture, Louis paints murals all across the country and works with community youth programs to host art and mural workshops.

His work has been featured at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, the RoHa Brewery, and Brighton Ski Resorts. Additionally, Scheuerman’s work has been featured abroad in Spain.

These muralists are painting their mark—transforming public spaces into vibrant expressions of creativity and human experience. As Utah’s artistic landscape continues to evolve, these creators are leading the way, bringing color, culture, and consciousness to the Beehive State.
