01 · OVERVIEW
A 4,755 SQFT LANDMARK FOR ELDERLY LGBTQ+ RESIDENTS IN FORT GREENE.
Stonewall at 108 St. Edwards Street is a new affordable housing development in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, serving the elderly LGBTQ+ community adjacent to Fort Greene Park. The project called for large-scale exterior artwork across the West and South elevations — artwork that would serve as a neighborhood landmark and a statement of identity for residents and the surrounding community.
WXLLSPACE engaged as the end-to-end commissioning partner: sourcing the artist, managing every phase of production, handling city compliance, and delivering the installation on schedule despite five full days of weather-related shutdowns.
