Alice Mizrachi

I'm Alice Mizrachi, a public muralist and interdisciplinary artist born and raised in Queens, New York — a borough that shaped everything about how I see the world: its density, its diversity, its profound human beauty. That foundation travels with me everywhere I work, from the streets of New York and Miami to walls in Amsterdam, Berlin, Tel Aviv, and Indonesia.
My murals are driven by themes of sacred feminine power, ancestral memory, migration, and community healing. I paint figures that carry history in their bodies — women, mothers, ancestors, healers — rendered through bold, symbolic abstraction and vibrant color that transforms public space into a site of reflection and recognition. The work is rooted in the belief that the stories most worth telling are often the ones that have been overlooked.
What drives my creative process is deep listening. Before I ever touch a wall, I immerse myself in the community it belongs to — its people, its histories, its grief, and its resilience. That research doesn't inform the work from the outside; it becomes the work. Over 25 years of practice and commissions with institutions including Silverstein Properties, Nike, the U.S. State Department, and UN Women have only deepened my conviction that public art is not decoration. It is documentation. It is healing. It is one of the most powerful tools we have for affirming that a community's story deserves to be seen — at scale, in full color, on the walls they walk past every day.
