DOT, Daniel Shoykhet (American b.1990) DOT, aka Daniel Shoykhet, is an LA based artist who grew up in the vibrant chaos of New York. With a quick rise in the art scene, his work is making waves in galleries and on the streets. Blending the raw power of optical art with the structured surrealism of architectural compositions, DOT’s signature style captivates and refuses to let go. His obsessive use of geometric patterns and color manipulation creates visual fields that tease and provoke the senses, pulling viewers into an altered dimension. “I am fascinated by the limits of human consciousness. If I can distort your perception with just a few lines of paint, imagine how malleable our reality really is,” DOT reflects on his work. What began as a pursuit to understand the boundary between physical and metaphysical space has evolved into a practice of surrealist compositions that challenge the mind. Completely self taught, DOT burst onto the scene with his Chicago mural debut, a launchpad that led to gallery shows and large scale murals across the U.S. Now based in LA, his studio is a powerhouse of creativity, where he continually pushes boundaries and reshapes the way we experience art.
