Hi, I'm Krista M. Jones (aka JONESY), a contemporary artist and muralist based in Atlanta, Georgia USA. My work centers on symbolism and I'm best known for my vibrant pattern-based murals and complex canvas paintings. In my current mural series called FORMATIONS I explore how color, pattern, and elements of nature disrupt industrial or sterile spaces found in urban environments. The intention is to provide organic imagery that helps remind us that we can interact with these spaces and each other. Plant life and other subjects seen in many of my murals represent growth and the patterns symbolize connection and movement. I like the idea of providing passersby with unexpected joy in the places we engage with. I am a licensed aerial platform operator and have suspended and supported scaffolding cerfication. I have experience working with the private and public sector and with stakeholders to help create public art that resonates with the heart of site-specific locations. I am currently in the planning phases of an 11,000-square-foot gateway mural for the Sugarloaf district in Gwinnett County.
