Nicole Poppell (signs as NNUZZO) is a multidisciplinary designer and artist previously based in the San Francisco Bay Area and now residing in her hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. With a background in Interior Architecture, and after years of experience working with the top design and experiential firms, Nicole has focused her energy into large scale art. She has worked with clients including Google, Facebook, Adobe, WeWork, Salesforce, Verizon, and Hashicorp among others. Her personal style is abstract, modern, clean and bold pulling inspiration from observations found in nature. Nicole tends to extract shapes from everyday objects and blend bright and earthy colors to create vibrant yet timeless work.
The Resourceful Carpenter,
At the center focus, a Gila woodpecker captured in flight, carrying a desert mistletoe berry flying above palo verde blooms. More than a moment of movement, the gesture reflects legacy, stewardship, and the small, often unseen actions that sustain an ecosystem.

Connected by Community
As a part of the University Park Neighborhood Grant project, 10 artists were paired with homeowners to create custom murals for the first ever Murals Off Mill - a local block party that brought live music, food, and live painting for all the neighbors to enjoy. This mural designed by NNUZZO brings in the surrounding greenery to create a subtle, unexpected, modern piece of art in the alley.

Holdeman Bike Lanes
This aerial artwork by Nnuzzo features vibrant, geometric patterns along a crosswalk and sidewalks, contrasting against a suburban street. For these bike lane designs, Nicole sketched plants around her yard and translated them into flat patterns using color interaction that interweaves geometric shapes. With 50 volunteers signed up to help paint throughout the 2 week process, this was truly a joint effort.
