About Peach Tao
Peach Tao is a muralist and an illustrator based in Brooklyn, NY. She loves creating whimsical images inspired by her environments and spontaneous adventures around the world. She enjoys painting fun murals and windows for all kinds of places throughout NYC, from public schools, hospitals, small businesses, bars and restaurants to the streets. Community-based projects are her favorite. She has had the pleasure of working with multiple organizations that are focused in the same mission in NYC and Puerto Rico.
In the summer of 2020, she paired up with local activist Karlin Chan and started the Chinatown Mural Project , dedicated to creating colorful and humorous murals that reflect Chinese American life and culture, around Manhattan's Chinatown to help boost the morale, attract people into the neighborhood and support local business. The project has been very well-received by local community and was interviewed by CBS news, NY1 and more.
Her illustration and printmaking art work can also be seen in books and advertisements. Peach is her nickname because her family name(陶Tao)shares the same pronunciation of Peach（桃Tao）in Chinese. No matter the medium, she aspires to create artwork that evoke the feeling of having sweets on a Sunday afternoon.
