“This vibrant mural by Alejandra de la Torre features an eclectic mix of whimsical objects and patterns, creating a playful, collage-like composition. This mural was created for International Women's Day on March 8. The museum invited me to create a mural to commemorate this day, and I—tired of the fact that many women are only invited to participate in certain events on International Women’s Day and to do something related to this theme—decided to assert the right we have as artists to be present at festivals, museums, etc., by creating a work in my own style that didn’t address any specific women’s issue, but rather that the assertion would be to create my own mural within the museum, thereby acquiring the same right as the rest of my colleagues to be recognized as an artist for my work. ”
