“ In October 2024, much of the southern part of my city was destroyed by rain and mud; many people lost their homes and even family members. Paiporta was one of the hardest-hit towns. After months of struggle, cleaning up mud, and rebuilding homes, the people of Paiporta wanted to feel like they had a normal life again, so when they called me to paint a mural, my goal was to create a mural that symbolized joy. That kind of joy that isn’t for any particular reason—just because it’s a good day, the sun is shining, you’re listening to your favorite music, and you’re watching the birds in the streets. This vibrant mural by Alejandra de la Torre combines elements like a camera, headphones, a sparrow, flowers, and a smiley face, creating a lively and eclectic composition.”
