Painted on the Museum of Art History in Lancaster, CA, I wanted to showcase some of the California desert’s amazing wildlife including a noble puma and a tortoise carrying earth and flora on its back. While painting this piece, the Santa Barbara fires raged on, filling the air with smoke and ash. This was an especially challenging mural, as staying safe from the perilous weather plus COVID precautions were paramount.
