About Christina Kwan
Becoming a professional artist has been my dream ever since I could remember and I've been working towards that goal gradually with every step in my life. I graduated from University of Florida in 2010 with a BFA in Drawing and moved to Atlanta afterwards to continue pursuing that goal. While I hustled in a slew of jobs, I kept my creative practice alive on the side which eventually led me to murals in 2018. Three years later I finally made the step to commit full-time to my art practice. My abstract style is inspired by the natural world and how we see our inner selves reflected in its movement and cycles. My calligraphic brushstrokes reference my Asian heritage and I see each of my paintings as a journey of exploration and discovery. Ultimately the work I make is about finding balance and equilibrium within the chaos of our struggles. The beauty of being human is that we are not ever in a “finished” state, but rather always growing and evolving toward self-acceptance.
