Natalie Clare is a creator based in the suburbs of Chicago. The merging of city and suburb cultures has influenced her work, leading her to blend high energy with soft subtlety. She primarily uses spray paint as a muralist due to its diverse applications, from hard edges to translucent smokiness. She is endlessly inspired by the incredible beauty and diversity of the natural world, the shapes, colors, and harmony of flora and fauna come through in all the work she makes. She fluctuates between highly whimsical, surreal pieces and darker more personal pieces from the deeper parts of her psyche. This highlights the duality of the artist, who often feels she is 2 distinct halves fused together. Her other greatest inspiration is pagan costumes, masks, and pageantry. Her professional career started in 2016 with a strong emphasis on mural work that has continued to evolve and grow over the years of practice. Creating murals is my greatest love and passion. I am an avid nature lover/hiker and bring that into the art that I create. Big walls are my favorite canvas because I can reach so many viewers.
