Don Oski

My name is Oscar Hernandez. I was born and raised in the vibrant and lively city of Miami, Florida. I currently reside in Pompano Beach, where I live with my wife and son. Art has always been in the forefront of my life. From sketching in my notebook, to curating my own art show in Panama, where my father’s family is from, I have spent years learning and crafting my talents. As an artist, I have explored many disciplines and mediums throughout the years. It has been a journey where I have learned many trades, from traditional drawing and painting, to tattooing, airbrushing, woodworking, and sculpting. I have worked with acrylic, oil paints, spray paints, and lacquers. At this point in my career, I'd like to combine all of my influences to create new and innovative art pieces through murals. I have been drawn to murals since I was in highschool, but had no formal training in murals. I am self-taught and have also learned from other artists. The themes I have most noticed in my work is an emphasis on nature, portraits, and reflections of my past. Murals have the appeal of creating public works for enjoyment and surprise to the communities. I love creating art pieces in large scale formats and the beautification of communities.
