My name is Monica Aguilar, I currently live in Amherst, MA. I love creating nature inspired and minimalistic/geometric style artwork. I have been painting murals since 2019. For me, the world around us is my greatest inspiration. Nature is our greatest healer and challenger. My work is inspired by the outdoors of places already explored and of places not yet found. In 2018, I hiked from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail. This was a 2,200 mile journey that spanned 6 months of hiking up and down the mountains of the East. The big and small views from the small flowers that bloomed as I walked into spring and summer to the sweeping vistas. Hiking the trail showed me that life is about slowing down, creating, and living a life you want to live. That journey inspired me to pick up a paint brush and create again. Now, I am an artist and muralist looking to create that beauty on all spaces to hopefully inspire others to pursue their dreams.
