About Steek
Born in 1983, Benoit BOTTALA known as Steek, is a self-taught artist.
My main inspiration from the island of Guadeloupe for its colorful nature and from women from different ethnic backgrounds and different cultures.
I enjoy using female characters in my paintings to raise awareness of all types of social injustice.
Although I has always been attracted by mural paintings, my art style combines portraits, characters, bodies and writings, strategically embedded into one another to form a scenic masterpiece where the transparency is the main subject.
Working layers by layers gives me more freedom to improvise.
