Clyde
I am an artist based out of Phoenix, Arizona, working primarily in realism with vibrant and fun color palettes. My work blends detailed representation with atmospheric color to create murals that feel both familiar and dreamlike. I aim to create a sense of story and feeling, whether through people, objects, or everyday scenes. I have over 12 years of experience painting large-scale murals and have worked with various cities, public art programs, and large developments. I enjoy creating artwork that feels engaging, memorable, and connected to its environment.
Timeless
This artwork by Clyde painted for Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel. Using the shadows from the overhanging shade structure, Clyde designed a mural that would incorporate the lighting differences throughout the day. The Glass prism held up to the face of the girl and the canyon wall background both benefited from the effects of the shadows. To connect the mural to the hotel's history, I included a key inside the glass prism that the girl is looking through. Serial numbers engraved onto the key, represent the three different dates that the hotel was famously rebuilt.

Painting the Sun
This is one of six murals painted for the Thunderbird Reserve on 30th Ave & Thunderbird. An affordable housing project for recovering woman and single mothers. The murals throughout the complex tell a narrative of women finding a solace in creating. In each mural you can find a bird flying through as a symbol of hope, which was inspired by the developers favorite poem by Emily Dickinson, "Hope' is the Thing with Feathers". The final mural shows a vase created by the collaboration of woman, holding blooming flowers. I was lead painter in this Collaboration with Muta Santiago.

Desert Blooms
This was a 3 wall panorama landscape. The goal was to create a place of tranquility before entering the medical offices. I wanted to create this one with painter-like quality, so the entire mural was painted with a large house paint roller. Simplifying the shapes and showing off painterly marks.
