Joel Blenz

Trap IF, is a Queens native and New York based graffiti writer, installation artist, fine artist and designer. With over 40 years of work as an artist, TRAP currently maintains both a studio and commercial practice in addition to active participation in street level and community-based work. Aligned with graffiti traditionalists and driven by a commitment to social justice, he has maintained anonymity as an artist throughout his career. His masked persona takes inspiration from superheroes and enables him to work from a point of spontaneous honesty in response to issues such as property rights, classism and inequality, which are central to his work.
